Braamse Community Service Scholarship Winner Announced

The Blossomtime Festival recently honored Bob Braamse for his 49 years of volunteer service to the festival. Steve and Chris Nash of St. Joseph funded an annual $500 Community Service Scholarship in Bob's name for the Blossomtime Community Queen who has the most outstanding community service record among the 23 community queens participating in the 2008 Miss Blossomtime Pageant.

Bob first started as a volunteer on the parade committee in 1958. He has served the festival continuously since, serving on or chairing most all the festival committees. He was elected to the board of directors in 1963 after serving as the Parade Chairman. He was elected President of the board in 1968 and continues as a board member, Treasurer and Parade Chairman.
